Heard on Monday from Dave Wood that Lawrence Jupp, who we’d both met and lived with at uni (and lived with for years after) had been tragically killed in a motorbike accident that day. I don’t know what to say, so I’m just going to point you at RedYeti’s “In Memorandon” (see his blog in the Blogroll - will put in proper link when I’m not posting from my phone. Lawrence, you big indestructable goon, I’ll miss you.

Here’s the link to Dave’s post. Amy also has some kind words.
Ironically, the person providing most comfort right now is Lawrence himself. Every time I think of him, it’s with a huge grin on his face, a pint of Guinness, and an overwhelming sense to turn even the grimmest situation into a cause for laughter.
Lawrence is irreplacable. He knew that life, however long you get, is too short to worry about it. He was, and will continue to be, a huge source of inspiration, to a vast number of people.
There are various photos of him around the net already, but I scanned in some more that I had and put them on the Internet. I’m sure he’ll get me back for it when we meet again.
